Soft Tissue

The most common soft tissue surgeries at our facility are spaying and neutering. Some medical benefits to spaying and neutering your dog or cat:

  • Decreasing the risk of testicular cancer and some prostate problems for males
  • Decreasing the risk of uterine infections and breast tumors for females
  • Most mammary masses are malignant or cancerous in about 50 percent of dogs and 90 percent of cats if not spayed

Behavior-wise a neutered male is less likely to act aggressive and less likely to wander off for a mate. Your female companion will live a longer, healthier life and you won’t have the behavioral differences caused by the hormones involved with going into heat.

In addition to spaying and neutering, other common soft tissues surgeries include but are not limited to: laceration and wound repair, gastropexy, abscess treatment, cystotomy, ear hematomas,  intestinal foreign body removal, tumor removals, C-sections and amputations.
